Austin, Texas – Austin FC Ahead Brandon vegkease Tore his right ACL, an injury that will disrupt his possibility of making United States Roster for next year’s World Cup.
The 26 -year -old was hurt against San Jose during the US Open Cup quarterfinal on Tuesday night. Austin said that on Thursday, he would have a season-end surgery.
Vázquez fell without any contact in the 69th minute, four minutes after converting a penalty kick which tied the score 1–1. He was removed from the ground on a stretcher.
A MLS All-Star, Vázquez joined Austin from Monteri in January and led the team with nine goals in all competitions this season. He has four goals in 11 appearances for America, but it was not on Concacaf Gold Cup Roster.
Austin won 4–2 over a penalty kick after a 2–2 draw and played Minnesota on 16 September.
