USC Freshman basketball player Alija Arenas Will sit out six to eight months after suffering from a knee injury, which requires surgery, the school announced on Wednesday.
Former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas’s son Arenas was a five-star recruitment, who graduated in high school a year ago to suit Trojan.
USC coach Eric Muselman said, “Alija is a tremendous worker, team partner, contestant and person.” “He is quite disappointed that he will not be able to take the court to start the season, but his health is our number 1 priority. We have no doubt that he will be even stronger. We are ready to support him during this process.”
Arenas made his practice debut after the April 1 car accident earlier this month, which admitted him to the hospital for about a week.
The accident occurred when Arenas lost control of his Tesla Cybertrok and crashed into a tree. He said in June that the car’s keypad and steering wheel would not respond. The car caught fire, but was able to break the side window of the Arenas driver and get out of the buyers with help.
Arenas was rushed to a hospital and put into an induced coma due to smoke breathing. He was released from the hospital after less than a week without any major injury.
The 6 -Foot -6 shooting guard from Chatsworth High School (California) was the number 13 recruitment in a McDonald’s All American and ESPN 100. He scored more than 3,000 marks in just three sessions of High School Basketball, establishing the CIF La City Section Record.
Arenas was expected to start on the perimeter of the USC with transfer Rodney rice (Maryland) and Chad Baker-Mahra (Obern).
