United Airlines jets collide on O'Hare tarmac

Chicago (wgn) – Two United Airlines passenger jets collided at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on Friday afternoon.

According to United Airlines, UA2652 was taxiing to its arrival gate when it encountered the horizontal stabilizer of another United Airlines jet. The second jet was stable and had no passengers on board.

UA2652 was carrying 113 passengers and five crew members at the time of the incident.

One passenger told Nexstar’s WGN that they were told they had to deplane so it could be inspected. The airline said all passengers were able to deplane safely and no injuries were reported.

UA2652 is a Boeing 737, while the other aircraft involved was a Boeing 767, as specified by the airline.
