Shaw won with backup due to several injuries on offense. Rookie quarterback said that’s why the Saints have won without players like Alvin Kamara Or Neal, who recently went on injured reserve, says expectations remain high no matter who plays.
“We’re here for a reason, we’re going to go out there and get the job done,” Shaw said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh man, if we had this, or this would be a good opponent.’ Let’s go out there and play football, man. Olave took treatment all weekend for a back problem and said he made the effort because he wanted to play a 17-game season for the first time, and he hoped to help Shaw win the award.
