President Trump said on Wednesday that he was considering controlling Washington, DC, Police Department in view of a violent attack on a former government’s efficiency department (DOGE) employee.
“We are considering this, because the crime is ridiculous,” Trump said when he was asked if he was making the metropolitan police department federal.
Trump said, “We want a great, safe capital. And we are going to keep it. And it includes cleanliness and other things,” Trump said.
Under the Home Rules Act, Trump can temporarily control the police department of the district if he determines that “special conditions of emergency nature exist.”
Earlier this week, an incident was named as “Big Balls”, an employee of a former Dogi, revived Trump’s frustrations with the district after Edward Coristine. Trump said that on Wednesday he was planning to talk with Koristine.
