
President Trump on Sunday called this weekend’s “No Kings” protest against him a “joke” and rejected suggestions that he is acting like a king.
“I’m not a king. I work hard to make our country great. That’s all. I’m not a king at all,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he flew from Florida to Washington, DC.
Millions of Americans gathered in “No Kings” events across the country on Saturday, opposition to trump And its administration. About 2,600 demonstrations took place in all 50 states, with large-scale events in cities including Washington, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Trump on Sunday dismissed the significance of the protests and suggested they were supported by wealthy Democratic donors.
Asked about the “No Kings” protests on Sunday, Trump told reporters, “I think it’s a joke.”
“I looked at the people – they are not representative of this country. And I looked at all the new signs… I think it was paid for [George] Soros and other radical leftist lunatics,β Trump added, adding: βIt sounds like it was. We are investigating it.β
He said, “The demonstrations were very small, very ineffective and people were dispersed. When you look at those people, they are not representative of the people of our country.”
Trump, in one Interview taped before the protestHe also rejected the idea that he was acting like a king, saying in an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures”, “They’re referring to me as a king. I’m not a king.”
