Trump administration is planning a new four -year deadline for foreign students in America, Homeland Security Department (DHS) Announced on Wednesday,
According to the release, a proposed rule was unveiled by the administration on Wednesday, “If finalized, some visa holders – including foreign students will limit the length of time – is allowed to live in the United States.”
A DHS spokesperson said in a release, “For a very long, previous administration has allowed foreign students and other visa holders to present security risks in the US for almost indefinitely, the cost of the taxpayer dollar and damage to American citizens.”
The spokesperson said, “This new proposed rule will end misuse for all once and all, which allow some visa holders to live in the US, allowing foreign students and their history to be properly overseen to reduce the burden on the federal government.”
The statement also stated that the US government will limit the time of foreign students in the country to four years or less.
“Since 1978, foreign students (F visa holders) have been admitted to the US for an unward period, known as the ‘duration of status’. Unlike other visas issued, people with the ‘duration of status’ are allowed to live in the US for an indefinite time without further screening and vetting,” DHS said in its press release.
DHS said, “In turn, foreign students have taken advantage of American generosity and have become ‘students’ forever nominated in higher education courses to stay in the US.”
During the first few months of his administration, President Trump and his administration rapidly torn the immigration.
State Secretary Marco Rubio said last Thursday that the administration was stopping to issue a workers’ visa for foreign truck drivers.
Rubio said on the social platform X, “Effective immediately we are issuing worker visas for commercial truck drivers. The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on the US roads is endangering American life and reducing the livelihood of American trucks.”
