Track star Sha’Carri Richardson arrested in alleged assault

The world 100 meter sprint champion Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested in the last weekend for allegedly assaulting her lover at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

According to the police report received by the Associated Press, Richardson was arrested on Sunday with a fourth degree domestic violence crime. On Thursday, she ran away in the US Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon in an early 100 meters. She is an automatic bye for the World Championship as a defending champion in Tokyo in September.

25 -year -old Richardson was booked at South Reform Unit (Score) in Des Moines, Washington at 6:54 pm and released on Monday at 1:13 pm

“The USATF is aware of the reports and is not commenting on the matter,” the USA Track and Field said.

Richardson’s agent did not immediately respond to an email request for comments.

The police report stated that an officer at the airport was informed by the transportation security administration supervisor of a disturbance between Richardson and his lover, Sprinter Christian Coleman.

The officer reviewed the camera footage and reached Richardson with his left hand and removed Kolman’s backpack. Richardson then appeared to come in the way of Kolman, and Kolman tried to step around him. Kolman was put in a wall.

The report later stated that Richardson appeared to throw an item at Coleman. The TSA indicated that it could be a headphone.

In the police report, the officer said: “I was told that Kolman did not want to participate further in the investigation and refused to suffer.”

Richardson won 100 at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary and ended with a silver medal in the Paris Games in the last summer.

In the 2021 American Olympic trial, she conducted a positive marijuana test and did not compete in the Tokyo Olympics.
