Skateboard Tony Hawk launched an unprecedented 900 in a competition sold at $ 1.152 million at auction on Wednesday.
Julian’s auction, which handled the sale of the skateboard, stated that the final value was almost double the press. Hawk Los Angeles was on hand for auction, which also accepted online dialects. The buyer was not disclosed.
The 57 -year -old Hawk shared the expectations of who would buy the skateboard earlier this month.
“I hope it is someone who really appreciates it or that event or that object means something for them and it is not just a flex because they have money. I think I am worried about it,” Hawk said. “… I will be cooled if it is someone who had a relationship with skating or perhaps they are going to display it somewhere for other people to see it.”
900 other items were also sold on Wednesday, including $ 115,200 for Hawk’s helmet, $ 64,000 for their sneakers and $ 57,600 for their knee pads. Additional items, however, were also part of Hawk’s career.
Hawk has said that the income from auction will go to its non -profit The Skatepark project, aimed at constructing skate parks in under -understated areas.
A trailblazer in the game of skateboarding, Hawk landed 900 during the X Games in San Francisco in June 1999. He was a 10 -time X Games Gold Medalist.
