Tesla is ending production of the Model S sedan and Model X SUV, CEO Elon Musk announced on a conference call Wednesday. He said the company will make the final version of both electric vehicles in the next quarter.
Musk said Tesla will build the Optimus robot at the same factory location in Fremont, California. Musk said his company will offer assistance to existing Model S and Model
He said, “Now is the time to basically end the Model S and “So if you’re interested in purchasing a Model S and X, now is the time to order it.”
Tesla launched Model S in 2012, and is considered the first car that made electric vehicles widely attractive. The Model But despite interior and exterior changes, sales of both models have declined in recent years.
