Paris-Tadej Pogačar claimed his fourth Tour Day France title on Sunday, strengthened his position as the most prominent rider of his generation and included Britain’s Chris from in the list of all-time winners.
The 26-year-old Slovenian, who previously won in 2020, 2021 and 2024, gave a near-flavless performance in three weeks, excellently performed in every department, even coming close to a brilliant final stage on the Champs-Elies after an epic duality with Belgium Wout Van Ert.
Pogačar had no need to win the stage, especially the risk of crashing on sleek roads. Still, as the rain fell a lot, he showed his tireless thirst for victory and attacked anyway, set a tremendous speed in Montmartre, because the fans were happy.
The 1.1-Cilometer Montmartre Hill was released only five riders with Poga at the third origin of Hill, with van Erts in the 21st phase.
“Just to win the tour de France; it seems a particularly amazing,” said Pogar. “It is just super pride that I can wear this yellow jersey.
“It was one of the most difficult tourism that I have ever lived.”
The two -time tour champion Jonas Winggard ended the overall race 4 minutes, second place 24 seconds back and Floorian Lipovitz, starting his tour, 11 minutes ago.
This was the fifth straight year where Poga and Winggard ended 1-2 on the tour.
“We have raised a lot of levels of each other, and we push each other to the limits,” said Poga. “I should tell him, big, big respect.”
The organizers on Sunday, after deciding to freeze the time with a distance of about 50 km in the platform due to the dangerous road conditions in the rain, neutralized to a large extent on Sunday.
It did not stop Pogkar from going for this, but the van Eart proved to be the best on this day, defeated Italian David Balarini and Matage Morik in third place. Pogačar finished fourth.
“Pogar said,” Hat to Wout. “He was incredibly strong.”
The world champion effectively sealed his victory in Pirenis, with a brutal attack on Hutacam climbing and controlling the race more than four minutes before the winggard over four minutes, a commanding win in separate personal time tests.
With its latest Triumph, Pogacker is equivalent to from (2013, 2015–17) and now only trails cycling Greats Daidy Mercury, Bernard Hinold, Jacks Encounter and Miguel Indurin, who share records with five titles.
Pogačar also secured the Polka-Dot Jersey for the classification of the mountains, underlining its all-round dominance, while Italy’s Jonathan Milan built the Green Jersey for the points competition.
Lipowitz won the White Jersey for the best U-25 rider.
Pogačar won four stages this year, so that they took their career tour Tally 21 and 30 in the Major Race, which included six in Giro de ‘Italia and three in Spanish Vulta.
He won Giro D’Atalia last year to become the first cyclist to secure the first season after the late Marco Pantani in 1998. Poga has not yet won the Spanish vulta, while Aquettill, Henalt and Mercury have won all three major races.
Traditionally, the final stage of Tour de France is largely a procession with riders who laps laps around Paris. The tour broke with tradition after the success of the Paris Olympic Road Race, which also occurred in Montmartra, which is famous for the Saikrya Koir Basilica.
