Survivor Series WarGames: Who actually attacked CM Punk?

Survivor Series: The 2025 Edition of WarGames provided more questions than answers, but entertainment and creativity. Liv Morgan made a surprise return, a mystery man set up The Vision Team to win the men’s WarGames match, and AJ Lee pinned Becky Lynch in the women’s WarGames match.

Who is the mysterious man?

This is the biggest question for WWE fans after Survivor Series. At the conclusion of the men’s WarGames match, a man dressed entirely in black with his face covered and wearing a hood climbed over the cage and delivered a superkick and stomp to CM Punk. Those familiar moves point to a mysterious figure who is possibly Seth Rollins, who has been sidelined with a shoulder injury, but that appears to be a mystery. This smells to me like the return of an old competitor, but to what degree? Could it be Randy Orton, who has been away for two months? Perhaps the Austin Theory, which has been out of action since July? Or, if we really want to go there, maybe AEW wrestler Chris Jericho, who will set the wrestling world on fire with his return to WWE for the first time since 2018? Whatever it is, it’s going to be a big reveal considering the mysterious way Survivor Series ended.

It was a big deal for Braun Breaker to finish the men’s WarGames match

After the mystery man’s attack, it was Breaker who delivered the spear and pin on Punk, and there was a lot of foreshadowing in that. The match started with Punk and Breaker in a staredown that felt like a five-minute hunger strike for a future world title match between these two. This idea was further cemented after Breaker saw Punk win the match for his team. It may have been Logan Paul, who himself put on a great performance for Team Vision (including a double suplex with Drew McIntyre on Punk and a stereo kip-up followed by a midair biceps pose), but it was Intentional Breaker who scored the pin, and that says a lot. I believe Paul is the future World Champion, but after Survivor Series it looks like Breaker could be the next challenger for Punk.

Liv Morgan returns to help Dominic Mysterio defeat John Cena for the title

WWE Superstar Liv Morgan made a spectacular return to the ring to help Dominic Mysterio defeat John Cena.

In a match full of interesting twists and turns, Mysterio defeated John Cena to regain the Intercontinental Championship. “Dirty Dom” dished out all the “lies, cheats and steals” involved, including faking a shoulder injury, which led to referee Chad Patton calling medics, only for Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Pérez to attack Cena. Dom then got up as if nothing had happened, but the referee refused to count out, allowing the match to continue. Dom also highlighted Eddie Guerrero’s actions at WrestleMania XX against Kurt Angle by loosening his boot, allowing him to shock Cena while trying to apply an STF. The ending was spectacular: Liv Morgan returned and slapped Dom, then hugged Cena. In a callback to Cena’s heel turn in March, Morgan’s facial expression became joyously emotionless, followed by a kick to the groin of Cena, helping Dom win the match. Dom regains the Intercontinental Championship and is reunited with Morgan. It was an extremely entertaining and great victory for Dom, who has now competed in three of Cena’s last four WWE matches, which is a huge accomplishment in itself.

Stephanie Wacker defends her title

Wacker defeated Nikki Bella to retain the Women’s World Championship, which was the right decision. Bella is a WWE Hall of Famer and deserves her respect, but Wacker is the present and the future. Wacker has had plenty of challengers to engage in interesting storylines, many of whom were participating in WarGames matches. speaking of which …

AJ Lee shines in WarGames

Io Skye stuns with amazing front flip outside the cage

Iyo Skye stuck a trash can over her head and flipped over the cage for an amazing moment.

In the Women’s WarGames match, Lee partnered with Black Widow to get a submission victory over Becky Lynch, which no doubt led to a singles match between the pair at WrestleMania. Iyo Sky (with an Iyo Sky-branded dustbin) had the moment of the match – and perhaps the night – by leaping off the cage at his opponents while wearing the dustbin. Lash Legend performed brilliantly as he dominated the match as soon as he entered the match. The former WNBA and college basketball player has high potential. Charlotte Flair’s dress was inspired by 7-year-old Scarlett, who is battling a brain tumor. Truly a classy move by a WWE Superstar.
