San Francisco — Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry Was dismissed during the second half of Friday Night 131-124 loss till detroit pistons Reasons for pain in right knee.
Despite being fouled with 4:28 left in the third quarter, Curry took a wobbly layup, but after the whistle he grimaced and began limping, experiencing discomfort in his right knee. He left the game after 20 seconds, met briefly with trainers and then limped to the locker room.
Curry was icing his right knee in the locker room after the game. He was still limping when leaving the field and was not talking to reporters.
This is not a new issue for Curry. He appeared on the team’s injury report six days earlier after experiencing swelling and discomfort in his right knee following an individual workout in Minneapolis. The team listed it as patellofemoral inflammation.
“I think he’s OK,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after Friday’s game. “I don’t think it’s a big deal, but we will have an update [Saturday]”
Curry was listed as questionable for Golden State’s game Sunday in Minneapolis and played despite suffering an injury during the win over timberwolves. The Warriors rested him for Monday’s rematch against the Timberwolves but cleared him for Wednesday’s road game. utah jazz And Friday’s home game against the Pistons.
Kerr confirmed the pain was related to the same right knee issue that kept Curry out of Monday’s game at Minnesota.
“It’s been bothering him lately,” Kerr said.
Curry had 23 points in 25 minutes before leaving Friday. The Warriors have three days off before resuming action on Tuesday at home philadelphia 76ers.
