The State Department on Saturday condemned an “unprovoked” Iranian drone strike in Azerbaijan that reportedly injured several people, and reaffirmed US support for Middle East allies as hostilities escalate in the region. Principal Deputy Spokesman Tommy Piggott said, “These attacks are a blatant violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and an unnecessary escalation of Iran’s aggression.”
