Sources: Dolphins’ De’Von Achane not available in trade

D’Von Achane apparently won’t be part of miami dolphins‘Offseason roster purge.

Sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that teams who recently called the Dolphins to inquire about trading for Aachen have been told the star running back is not available.

The Dolphins have completely overhauled their roster under new general manager John-Eric Sullivan and coach Jeff Hafley, either shedding or outright releasing most of their veteran core from the past few seasons.

But Achen, who is entering the final season of his four-year rookie deal with Miami, is apparently part of the Dolphins’ plan under their new leadership.

Sullivan was asked about Achen’s possible extension at the NFL Scouting Combine.

“I mean, he’s an amazing player,” Sullivan said at the time. “We want him to be a part of this thing moving forward. … We’ll have conversations with him as well as some other guys as we move forward, but that’ll be later in the summer.”

The Dolphins made their latest high-profile move Tuesday by trading star receiver jaylen waddle till denver broncos. Miami also traded experienced defensive back minka fitzpatrick till New York Jets earlier this month.

Achane, 24, is expected to be the centerpiece of Miami’s new-look offense under first-year coordinator Bobby Slovic. Dolphins release former franchise quarterback tua tagovailoa last week and was replaced by free agent signings malik willis.

Achane rushed for a career-high 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns last season, averaging a league-leading 5.7 yards per carry. He was also a key part of the Dolphins’ passing game, making 67 catches for 488 yards and four touchdowns.

Miami, which also released its longtime star receiver tyreek hill Starting this offseason, the Giants will play the 2026 season with approximately $175 million in dead money against the salary cap.
