Sources – Bruce Pearl to retire as Auburn hoops coach after 11 seasons

Sources told ESPN that Steven Pearl, Pearl’s son and Tigers Associate Head Coach are expected to be the head coach for the upcoming season.

The 65 -year -old Bruce Pearl is coming out of a season, in which he directed Obern for his second last four appearance. Tigers earned the number 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament after winning the SEC regular-season championship, registering 32 wins before falling in Florida in the national semi-finals.

He has been the head coach in Obern for 11 sessions, leading to the two -run four -run performance of the six NCAA tournaments to Tigers. During the Pearl time in Obern, the tigers won the part of the regular regular regular regular-season title and two SEC tournament championships.

He went to 246–125 in Obern.

Pearl has long been associated with a coaching career in politics, something that he addressed in early September after a long rumors of the months about Pearl as a potential candidate for Tommy Tuberville’s Open US Senate seat.

“This is definitely something that I believed,” Pearl told reporters. “This is something that I thought about, but obviously I am here and I am in practice and I got practice tomorrow.”

Before taking over in Obern, Pearl was the head coach in Tennessy, Milvauki and Southern Indiana. He went to the NCAA tournament with volunteers in all his six sessions, including three Sweet 16 appearances and one elite eight runs. He was fired in 2011 after being charged by NCAA for immoral conduct after lying in NCAA during an investigation into recruitment violations.

Pearl was awarded a three-year show-causal penalty by the NCAA, in which Obern hired her five months before the end.
