Phoenix – The cleveland browns will not sign AJ EpenesaA source told ESPN on Sunday that the team was uncomfortable finalizing the deal after the veteran defensive back was physically injured.
The Browns agreed to a one-year deal with Epenesa worth up to $5 million on March 18, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter at the time. According to the NFL’s transaction wire, Epenesa visited the Browns’ facility last Monday, but the deal was not finalized.
Epenesa was expected to add depth to the Browns’ defensive line rotation. cameron thomas signed with atlanta falcons Early this offseason.
Epenesa, 27, played all six of his NFL seasons with Bills. Originally a second-round pick by Buffalo in the 2020 NFL Draft, he was a reliable member of the team’s defensive line rotation over the years and a strong backup, playing in 91 games (19 starts).
