,WKBN)-American Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS) on Thursday announced in a public health warning that some ready-to-eating pasta food could be contaminated.
USDA said Some package of Marketside Lingini with beef meatball and marinara sauce may be contaminated with listeria monocytozens (LM).
The agency said the affected items were sent inside the inspection of the USDA with the installation number “Est. 50784” or “Est. 47718” across the country.
The affected east-ripe pasta is packed in 12-inges clear plastic trays, used by “best” by the dates of all 22, 24, 25, 29 and 30, and 1 October of this year.
The USDA said that pasta samples were collected as part of an ongoing investigation In a Listeria outbreak associated with Alfredo food since June. The USDA stated that samples conducted a positive test for LM, and further tests are being done to determine any possible links for outbreak stress.
The USDA stated that eating LM-contaminated food can lead to listrosis, which mainly affects older adults, weak immune systems, pregnant women and people with newborns. Symptoms of infection include “fever, muscle pain, headache, hard neck, confusion, balance loss and sometimes diarrhea or loss of objections before other gastrointestinal symptoms.”
The agency advises customers not to eat the affected pasta and throw it up instead or return it to the purchase store.
