Sprinter Shakari Richardson recently addressed the arrest of domestic violence in a video on social media and released an apology to her lover, Christian Coleman.
Richardson posted a video on his Instagram account on Monday night in which he said he put himself in a “compromise situation”. He released a written apology to Kolman on Tuesday morning.
“I love her and I can’t apologize to her,” the 100 meter World Champion wrote in all the big letters on Instagram, saying that her apology should be “as her” works “as loud.”
“Christian I love you and I am very sorry,” she wrote.
Richardson was arrested on 27 July on a fourth degree domestic violence crime to attack Coleman at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. He was booked in the South Corrective Unit in Des Moines, Washington for over 18 hours.
He was arrested before the 100 meter race at the US Championship in Eugene, Oregon.
In the video, Richardson said that she is practicing “self-discipline” and “refusing to run away, but faces everything that comes to me.”
According to the police report, an officer at the airport was informed by the 2019 world 100-meter champion Richardson and a disturbance between the Transport Safety Administration Supervisor.
The officer reviewed the camera footage and reached Richardson with his left hand and grabbed Kolman’s backpack and removed it. Richardson then appeared to come in the way of Kolman, Kolman tried to step around him. Kolman was put in a wall.
The report also stated that Richardson appeared to throw an item at Coleman, indicating that it could be a headphone.
The official said in the report: “I was told that the Coleman did not want to participate in the investigation and refused to suffer.”
A message was left with Coleman from the Associated Press.
Richardson wrote that Coleman “came into my life and gave me more than a relationship, but whatever I have experienced in my past, more understanding of unconditional love than what I have experienced.”
He won 100 at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest and ended with silver at the Paris Games in the last summer. He also helped the 4×100 relay in an Olympic gold.
She did not compete after a positive marijuana test in the US Olympic trial during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
