Sean Dyche is in third place nottingham forest The manager was sacked this season after the club confirmed his exit in the early hours of Thursday after a 0-0 draw Premier League Bottom-Club Wolves.
Dyche joined the club in October after Nuno Espirito Santo, who had started the season as head coach, and then his successor Ange Postecoglou were both fired at the start of the Premier League season.
Forest have since signed ex-Wolves boss Vitor Pereira Preferred candidate to take chargeSources tell ESPN.
Pereira was sacked by Wolves in September but kept them in the Premier League last season and has worked with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis in the past when he managed Olympiacos in 2015.
Forest are 17th in the Premier League, three points above the relegation zone, after the draw with Wolves.
A brief Forest statement posted at 12.31pm GMT on Thursday said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.
“We would like to thank Shaun and his staff for their efforts during his time at the club and we wish them all the best for the future.
“We will not be making any further comment at this time.”
Forest boss Evangelos Marinakis, who had a public dispute with Espirito Santo before his exit, was in the stands on Wednesday, and after the game it looked as if Dyche was resigned to his fate after a difficult run of results.
“The owner has been fair to me without a doubt,” Dyche said. “If someone wants to make changes in football now, that’s their decision. We’ve all seen it.”

“People can demand change, and then it’s always up to them whether they change or not. I just work very hard. I care about this club. I’ve made that clear. I’m working very hard.
“If the owner wants to make changes, that’s up to him, and that’s the way football is now, that’s just the reality of it.”
Forest finished seventh in the Premier League under Espirito Santo last season, missing out on a Champions League place after a poor end to the campaign but securing European football for the first time since 1995–96.
Nuno signed a new three-year deal at the City Ground in June 2025, but was sacked in September following a breakdown in his relationship with Marinakis.
Former Tottenham boss Postecoglou was quickly brought in as the Portuguese’s replacement, but he lasted only 40 days in the post and Marinakis was again axed within minutes of a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Dyche, who lives in Nottingham and was an apprentice at the club, became the club’s third first-team boss of the season on 21 October and joined former Forest heroes Ian Vaughan and Steve Stone in the dugout.
They beat Porto in their opening game and a month later, a 3–0 win over Premier League champions Liverpool seemed to have the upper hand.
Wednesday’s draw left Forest with just two wins from their last 10 in the Premier League – a run during which they were also knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Wrexham – as they struggled to steer clear of trouble in the battle for survival.
