Schumer slams 'unhinged' Trump '60 Minutes' interview: 'Maybe I should file a complaint'

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) suggested he should file a complaint with the federal government over the editing of an interview President Trump gave to “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday night.

“Maybe I should file a complaint with the FCC against the Trump White House for editing his unedited 60 Minutes interview,” Schumer wrote in a post on the social platform X. “It will use exactly the same language that Trump filed against Vice President Harris.”

Schumer was referencing Trump’s lawsuit against CBS, which came after his legal team argued that the network edited an interview it conducted with him to cast the Democrat in a positive light days before the 2024 election.

CBS’s parent company, Paramount, settled the lawsuit last summer for $16 million, though it did not apologize or admit any wrongdoing for the way it treated Harris.

During a portion of his interview with “60 Minutes” this week that did not air Sunday, Trump praised the new leadership at CBS and has previously spoken positively about Paramount’s billionaire owner Larry Ellison and his son, the giant media conglomerate’s new chief executive.

CBS released the full transcript of her interview Sunday night, a notable move that comes after Trump and his allies pressured the network to publish the transcript of the Harris interview in the months before the president’s lawsuit was filed.

The White House promoted the sit-down Monday morning, calling it a “powerful interview” that the president used to “demonstrate his unwavering commitment to record gains in the stock market, global peace successes, and law and order.”

“Highlighting these remarkable successes, President Trump made it clear to Democrats: Reopen the government and work with them to put America on a path to even greater prosperity and security,” the White House said.
