San Diego — Alex Morgan Jersey filled the Concourse and seats of Snapdragon Stadium on Sunday, with the prestigious number 13 of each era – for the red, white and blue of the United States San diego wave Navy and Pink – On the back of fans.
But the number 13 jersey that everyone was to see was not worn by anyone – and it will never be worn again by any other wave player.
The Wave retired Morgan’s No. 13 after his match on Sunday, and presented a USWNT legend with moments of a framed jersey after the team. 3-0 Disadvantage for Houston dash,
Morgan said, “I am going to try to keep it together,” Thank you for so many moments in my career. Three years may look like a short time, but sincerely these three years have been the most transforming. From the creation of the club to the creation of the club, above the ground, to make the playoffs, win the shield in the second season and win the Challenge Cup in the third season and to break the records for NWSL.
“For fans: Oh, we are through it. Ebms and flow, high and climb, just something that brings people together. We have done all this, and I just appreciate you in showing you in a day. That’s why I showed young girls and boys in the stadium. All.”
Around 100 members and friends of Morgan’s family were present for Sunday’s matches and ceremony, including the partner of the former team. Tobin Heath,
“To see my time here in San Diego, and that it has as much effect as it was to achieve [No. 13] Retired, there were lots of sweat and tears and simply with EBBS and number 13 in that jersey, “Morgan told ESPN before the ceremony.” Now to be able to see it in rafters and to see it with my family and son, to know that I was a part of this team, and it is entirely in history.
Wave said a rare honor in jersey retirement – football – by giving pink headband to fans, he said with one eye that Morgan made it distinguished. There was also a huge “number 13” structure wrapped in pink pre-rap, which Morgan rolled to make his headband.
The pink number 13 structure had messages from fans pinned, ranging from almost illegal handwriting children to wide notes from Morgan motivated mothers who continued to play after giving birth to their first child in 2020. Fans thanked Morgan and announced things like traveling 3,000 miles from Main for Sunday’s occasion.
Morgan retired last year after a career of nearly 15 years. She announced together that she was pregnant with her other child. In May, he Purchased a owned share in the wave,
Morgan is the World Cup winner twice and an Olympic champion who scored 123 international goals, the fifth highest in USWNT history.
She was a “nomadic” during her career, as she described Sunday. During his career, Morgan played for seven professional clubs on two separate continents besides several semiprofational teams. He won the championship in the UEFA Champions League along with two separate American professional leagues.
