Saints’ Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave address trade rumors

Metairie, La.– New Orleans Saints rushing back Alvin Kamara He said that he has got used to being the subject of trade rumors during his career, but his stance still has not changed.

Kamara said Thursday he wants to stay in New Orleans.

Kamra was asked About NFL Network Report He said Saints general manager Mickey Loomis contacted him after receiving interest from other teams. The report says Loomis asked Kamara if he wanted to go somewhere.

“Yeah, I don’t know where he is [came from]we talked [the report] And we were looking at each other like the little Spider-Man meme: ‘Did you say something? Did I say something?’ I don’t know where it comes from, but I think I’m so outspoken that… I don’t want to go anywhere,” Kamara said. “And I’ve said it countless times, you all know it. I think everyone knows this. The fan base knows this. And at the end of the day, it’s business. So I don’t go upstairs, and I don’t have an office upstairs. I got an office at NASCAR in Charlotte, but I didn’t get an office upstairs, so I don’t really sit in on those meetings, and I don’t really know what goes on there.”

What if the team approaches them about a trade?

“I just have to keep my head down,” Kamara said. “And I don’t know, if I were the GM, I think I’d go to the player and say, ‘Hey, we’re trading you. Just so you know.’ So, if Mikey comes down and says that, I’ll go drink a pina colada somewhere.”

Kamara made a similar protest last summer when he was asking for a new contract from the team and said he would like to be a Saint by the end of his career. Kamara has been with the Saints since they selected him in the third round of the 2017 draft, a season in which he earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

“I want to remain a Saint for as long as my career lasts,” Kamara said at that time“That’s really all I’m looking for,” Kamara said at the time.

Kamara signed an extension midway through last season that will keep him in New Orleans through the 2026 season, and $3 million of his base salary for 2026 is guaranteed. Kamara turned 30 in July.

Kamara said he does not know which teams he has been linked to or who needs to withdraw, but he is used to speculation.

Kamara said, “I mean it’s been like that for years and it’s been that way. I’m focused on what I’m doing. I don’t really think about it too much.”

saint wide receiver Chris OlaveJoe, who has also been a part of potential trade speculation, admitted he was aware of the talks and made it a natural part of the conversation given the team’s 1-5 record.

“It’s part of the business, man,” Olave said. “It’s been like that all year, in the offseason. Even now, I’m not really on social media, but I know it’s brewing right now because we’re 1-5. So, there’s always rumors, the Internet is always trying to create some buzz. But I’ve talked to people in the building so I’m very confident.”

Olave did not elaborate on who he spoke to in the building, saying he would prefer to keep it private.

“It’s all over the Internet, so they talked to me and told me what was going on,” Olave said. “I keep it between me [them],
