Reddit users are now required in the United Kingdom Verify their age As a way to prevent children from reaching improper material.
The new requirement is after introducing new steps to platforms after the UK’s Online Safety Act (OSA), which to prevent children from facing harmful materials, such as pornography and to block the material promoting self-loss.
Reddit will use third-party service personality to confirm the user’s age, users will need to present a picture of their government identity documents or take selfies. Reddit said that it will not have access to these images, and will only save the person’s verification status and date of birth.
