“Of all the coaches I’ve coached, I wouldn’t be surprised if they asked Spags to come back to shut down that defense and get an offensive-minded coordinator,” Jennings explained. babcockReferencing the former Giants defensive coordinator (and interim HC briefly).
“But, you know, the sky’s the limit for those guys,” Rashad said, pointing to the young talent on the Giants’ roster, which includes cam skatebow …who is hoping to return to the field next season after suffering a horrific ankle injury against the Eagles late last month.
In fact, Jennings may be coaching Scott.
“I’m not sure what [the Giants are] Going to do, but I’ll tell you what,” the retired halfback said… “I’m putting it out there. If anyone is looking for a good running backs coach,” RJ told us, giving his name.
Rashad has not coached before, but says it is something that is on his mind and he believes now is the right time.
“I’ve been thinking about going into coaching for a very long time. I’m considering it now that I’m married, I have a kid, I’m settled, I can still stay in one place.”
Rashad said, “I tell everyone I wasn’t the most skilled. Because of that, I appreciate it. I really had to learn the art of being a great runner. There are a lot of skills I can give and teach to become a great runner.”
First things first, before the 2-8 Giants hire anyone — Spags or anyone else — they’ll have to complete a series of games remaining on the schedule … and that’s likely to take a long few months.
