Raiders officially name Klint Kubiak as new head coach

A source tells ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Raiders are offering Kubiak a five-year contract.

The team posted video of Kubiak and his family arriving in Las Vegas on Monday evening and being welcomed by Raiders general manager John Spitek.

The team will introduce Kubiak at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

“You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas,” Kubiak said from the Levi Stadium field in Santa Clara, California. “I’m excited about it.”

Asked again if he was leaving, Kubiak said: “Yes, I’m leaving.”

Kubiak, son of the former denver broncos Coach Gary Kubiak will be the Raiders’ fifth full-time coach beginning in 2021.

In his one season in Seattle, Kubiak helped the Seahawks’ offense behind the quarterback Sam Darnold During the regular season he ranked third in points (28.4 per game), eighth in total yards (351.4), 10th in rushing yards (123.3), eighth in passing yards (228.1), 13th in offensive efficiency (50.76) and 15th in EPA (30.86).

“Man, they’re getting somebody special, somebody who knows the game, somebody who’s going to do anything to win,” the star Seahawks receiver Jackson Smith-Njigba Said after Sunday’s win. “He’s an unbelievable coach. It was an honor to play with him this year. Just for him to know me, to know how I was as a player and person, it’s something special and something I don’t take lightly. So good luck to him. We’ll miss him.”

Darnold said: “Clint is that guy. He’s a great guy and a really smart guy. … I think he’s going to do great things in Vegas.”

Kubiak would take over a Las Vegas team that went 3–14 this season after first-year coach Pete Carroll was fired. Difficult conditions exist for aggression in Las Vegas brock bowers and running back ashton jeanty. It also holds the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and is expected to select Indiana quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza.
