Hulk Hogan, who took professional wrestling for the national mainstream and became the biggest money -making draw in the history of the industry, died on Thursday at the age of 71, Florida Police and WWE said on Thursday.
In Florida’s Clearwater, the authorities responded to a call about a cardiac arrest on Thursday morning. Hogan was declared dead in a hospital, police Said in a statement on Facebook,
“There were no signs of dishonesty or suspicious activity,” Major Nate Berncide told reporters.
WWE Posted a note on X Saying that WWE Hall of Famer died, it was sad to know that.
“One of the most recognizable figures of pop culture, Hogan helped WWE to achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE expressed his condolences to Hogan’s family, friends and fans,” said this.
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bolia, was struggling with many health issues in recent years, including a problematic, injury from his wrestling days. Hogan had not wrestled since 2012, but recently, the founder of the New Real American Freestyle Wrestling Promotion and the owner of an upcoming New York City Bar in front of Madison Square Garden, was in the news as a site of many of his big matches.
In 1985, Hogan first made WrestleMania in the headlines, taking Rodi Piper and Paul Oldorf with the 1980s TV star Mr. T. In MSG, WrestleMania I attracted about 1 million audiences on closed-circuit television and are credited with taking professional wrestling, especially the then WWF (now WWE) to the National Zeeitgeist.
Hogan’s Grj match with Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III took Hogan’s career – to new heights. Around 80,000 people filled the Pontik Silverdome in Michigan for the match. Remach, several months later, attracted 33 million spectators on the free-to-air NBC.
Hogan was the first eight of the eight WrestleMania cards at the main event of seven. President Donald Trump was one of other notable figures after the response. Hogan gave a speech at the Republican National Convention last July to support Trump’s President’s campaign.
