Illinois village. JB Pritzkar (D), a potential 2028 presidential candidate, said he is not willing to engage in a biased redistributed push in his state before 2026 midnight.
In a Sunday interview on CBS News’s “Face the Nation”, Pritjkar resumed his map in the middle of the decade and warned against more states, but he said that Democrats should consider the option if the reconstruction of more Republican states.
“This is not something I want to do. It’s not anything that any of us wants to do,” Pritzkar said whether there is any chance that Illinois re -prepares his Congress lines before next year’s mid -term elections. ,
“But I have to say, if Donald Trump is going to his Maga colleagues in various states and forcing the American people to re -start them in the middle of a decade – when you are correct after a census, with a year ending with a year, not a year ended in five,” Pritzkar continued.
“If he is going to do this in the whole country, I think we all have to think what we can do to compete with it,” he said.
Pritzkar stated that it is “possible” to resume the Congress map in Illinois, which they are already in favor of the Democrat, but he said that he would “prefer to stay here,” after Texas and California – between a blow to make a similar effort for other states.
“I can tell you that, yes, it is possible to have more democratic districts in the state of Illinois, and we can do it. As I said, it’s not something I want to do, and I would like to stay here,” he said. “I know that Texas is now signing this map in the law … and now we are going to see it in California, perhaps.”
He said, “I hope it ends there. It should end there. And we know, you know, a census in 2030 and a new map in 2031,” he said.
