voice actor James Carter CathcartFamous for his work on “Pokémon”, has died … TMZ has learned.
According to a family member, James died on Tuesday after a one -year fight with throat cancer. We have been told that he died in Dharamshala care in the One Hills, New York.
On “Pokémon”, James brought many characters to life with his voice … Professor Oak, Mewath, Gary Oak and James from Team Rocket.
He was also known among the “Sonic” fans, giving voice to the crocodile “Sonic X” and “shadow the hedgehog” videogame.
James was detected throat cancer in 2023 – he did not respond well to early treatments and needed more aggressive chemotherapy … and he retired from voice acting after completing his work on the English dub of “Pokémon: Ultimate Journey”.

Fellow voice actor Erica Shroder James is “remembering as one of the most joyful, brilliant, kind and talented souls … a kind of, a gentle, beautiful, playful talent … the master of the pen, piano and microphone.”
James was 71 years old.
