PLL Week 9 preview: Key stats, players for Archers’ Homecoming

Week 9 2025 Premier Lacrose League season Here is, and two -time defending champion Utah Archer is back in his home state.

Salt Lake City has four game docks on Friday and Saturday, in which archers play a game every day.

California Redwoods (2-5) vs Utah Archer (3-4)

Friday, 8 pm ET | ESPN+

This is the last Western Conference of California’s season. With a disadvantage, according to PLL estimates near Redwoods, the playoffs will be less than 25%. Here are the full playoffs from this game:

  • California with a win: 78.8% chance to make playoffs

  • California with a disadvantage: opportunity to make 21.8% playoffs

  • Utah with a win: 97.5% chance to make playoffs

  • Utah with a disadvantage: 59.6% chance to make playoffs

Redwood

Redwoods struggled to finish the game this season, with a minus -12 goal difference in the fourth quarter.

Across the league, they have the worst shooting percentage (21.4%) and the second worst shooting percentage (38.7%) in the last period. The team is currently on a five-game losing line.

Archers

Ruki Sam King scored Archer with nine goals and eight assist in this season. He is a spark for Utah’s crime as Matt Moore sits on IR.

Overall, the archers are still in aggressive shape with a league-less 9.9 goal per game. In every game this season, he has been scoring for more than 11 minutes.


Maryland Whipnax (2-3) vs New York Atlas (5-2)

Atlas: nobody

Atlas will achieve the playoffs with a win, but the Eastern Conference also has large effects for the number 1 seed that is.

According to estimates by PLL, here are the number 1 seed possibilities for each team based on landscape:

  • Maryland opportunities with a win: 19.9%

  • Maryland’s possibility with a disadvantage: 0.0%

  • New York Possibility with a Win: 86.8%

  • New York Possibility with a loss: 50.5%

Whipsonx

Whipsnakes is allowing his lowest score against 2022 since the current goalkeeper Kyle Barnlohar won the Oren Leons Golki of the Year Award.

Maryland never lost to New York with Nardela in the faceoffs, although Nardela has a low win percentage (47.4%) against the Atlas’ traveler baptist (52.6%) in her head-to-head matchup since 2019.

Atlas

Connor Shuberger is now a favorite MVP after an impressive performance against Redwoods in the last weekend. He became only seventh player since 2001, with seven assistance in a game.

Against whipnux, Shelberger will have to receive the previous defenseman Ajax Zapitelo, who was taken a place in front of him in the 2024 draft. In his fraudulent season, Zappitello placed Shelenberger as the nearest defender in the pll semi -finals for 0 -for -4 shooting. This year in Philadelphia, Xulanberger bounced back with Maryland with seven points, shooting 2 -for -4 against Zapitloo.

Philadelphia Waterdogs (4-3) vs Carolina Anarchy (3-4)

Anarchy never defeated Waterdog in PLL history. Waterdogs won their first game as an organization on chaos in 2020, as well as their first championship in 2022.

Both squads are square in the playoff race this year, but each team’s possibility improves a lot with a win. According to PLL, here are some probability estimates till Friday:

  • Philadelphia with a win: 93.8% chance to make playoffs

  • Philadelphia with a disadvantage: 70.3% chance to make playoffs

  • Carolina with a win: 88.2% chance to make playoffs

  • Carolina with a disadvantage: 59.6% chance to make playoffs

Waterdog

After remembering the first six matches of the season, the number 1 pick CJ Kires played in both midfield and attack Obstetric Against whipsnakes. He finished shooting 0 -for -5 with two turnover on 14 touch.

Meanwhile, partner Ruki Jake Taylor is in the pace of setting a single-season record of waterdogs for points and goals by a first year player. He is a point and a goal away from tying both records.

chaos

Carolina has its own young sensation in Owen Hilts, which is at the speed of setting a stalled single-season record of Caos for points, goals and assistance.

Brian Minicus’ 2023 campaign goes into all three categories after 24 points, 14 goals and nine assistance – Ross Scott matched his 14 goals in the previous season. Hiltz currently assists 17 points, 12 goals and five.

Denver outlavs (5-2) vs Uuta Archer (3-4)

Saturday, 9 pm ET | ESPN2/ESPN+

Injury report:

Outlaws: SSDM Alex Smith Out (Right Hamstrings), a Pat Kavanagha suspect (left shoulder)
Archery: A Mac O’Kif suspect (left hand), a matte moort IR (right hip), Pho Mike Sicelberger IR (right hand), a Davon McClen out (PUP)

The bandits are currently on the five-game winning line and can get the number 1 seed at the Western Conference later this week. If the chaos loses from the waterdogs before Saturday, the outlaws receive the number 1 seed with a win.

Among criminals

Jake Pseno is one of the best aggressive campaigns ever by a long pole, which assisted three goals and three in 2025 so far.

Three games are left, they have a chance to join Michael Ehrhart (2019) and Jarod Pneumon (2019), which is the only long pole with 10 or more marks in the same PLL season.

Archers

Stallwart Defenseman Graeme Hosac is the only player to score Brann O’Neill on five-plus shots. In two sessions, O’Neel Shots is 0 -for -13 when Hosac is the nearest defender on it.
