Off-duty Border Patrol agent shot in NYC in possible attempted robbery: CBP

Manhattan, NY (Wpix) An off-duty border petrol agent in a park in the city of New York is in the hospital, which has been shot in “looks like a robbery”, the authorities have confirmed.

According to New York City police, the 42 -year -old man was shot in a face and hand before midnight at Fort Washington Park in Manhattan. He was taken to an area hospital in a stable position.

Sources initially told Nexstar’s WPIX that the man was a border petrol agent at the time of the incident. He said that the man opened fire on the alleged attackers.

A spokesman and customs and border security for us made a statement to WPIX:

“In the evening [of] July 19, an US Customs and Border Security Officer were shot as a robbery. The officer, who was out of duty at that time, is currently in the hospital in a stable position. One of the alleged criminals was an illegal foreigner with a prior arrest for the order of Gundagardi 2 and 3 degrees attacks and exile. The New York Police Department is currently investigating the incident. ,

The police confirmed WPIX that a person is in custody, but no allegations have been made. The details about the person have not been released, and it is not clear whether an additional suspect is being sought.

The video obtained by WPIX was shown that a gun was recovered from the scene, although the authorities did not say whose gun it is.
