The 6-foot-9 Boozer, a national player of the year contender, paced Notre Dame, scoring 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the first half as the Blue Devils took a 54–22 lead at halftime. He made 10 out of 12 shots in the first half.
Tuesday’s effort marked Boozer’s ninth game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, tied with Washington’s Hannes Steinbach for the most among Division I freshmen.

Notre Dame (12-16, 3-12) played its third consecutive game without a freshman jalen harrelson (ankle sprain), which averaged 15.5 points.
Harrelson has been Notre Dame’s leading scorer since the star guard marcus burton An ankle injury required surgery in December. Burton, who is unlikely to play again this season, is averaging 18.5 points. Notre Dame also lost a big man Kebba Naji Due to a knee injury in January.
Even Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry apparently suffered an ankle injury during the game and wore a boot on his left foot throughout the second half.
