California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) said Wednesday night that he will sue the Trump administration Dispatching immigration agents to San Francisco.

“We’re going to be fierce, we’re going to be focused in terms of our response,” Newsom said before picking up a stack of papers. “In fact, this is the lawsuit I would file within a nanosecond of any attempt to send troops to San Francisco, one of America’s great cities.”
Newsom praised the city’s decline in homicides and economic success, and said that “only Donald Trump can ruin it.”
“And we will push back with clarity and conviction,” the governor said. “We will continue to win in court.”
