New York Post editorial board says Trump sounds like Biden on affordability

The New York Post’s editorial board is criticizing President Trump, arguing that the president sounds like former President Biden on issues potency And cost of living.

“Biden is solely to blame for the world we live in now. His wasteful spending fueled record inflation that still hurts American consumers,” the post read. An editorial published on Thursday“But Trump campaigned on making life more affordable. Inflation can be controlled to 2%-3%, which is positive, yet prices are not coming down as he says – and probably never will.”

The Post quoted Trump as saying Say On “60 Minutes” last weekend, “We’re creating jobs at a level that no one has ever seen before… By the way, the stock market just hit – perfect timing for your show – just hit an all-time high.”

Trump later told Fox News anchor Brett Baier, the newspaper reported, “We’ve got prices down significantly… I think they’re coming down, but they’re already down. I think the biggest problem is that Republicans don’t talk about it. They don’t talk about the word affordability and the Democrats lie about it.”

The post warns that the president is out of touch with the financial pain Americans are feeling.

“Americans didn’t like being lied to by Biden and the Democrats, and the party paid for it at the ballot box. But Americans also wouldn’t like being called liars, contrary to what their own eyes – and their own wallets – are telling them,” it concluded. “Don’t deny that things are tough, Mr. President. Take another look at some of your economic policies and help make things better.”
