New York – At his introductory news conference, New Nicks Coach Mike Brown said he was making a point to take his fiancé to a handful of restaurants in the city to get a job.
This was necessary, he said, because there would not be a chance to do so after rolling around the decline season.
“There is a lot of work to do,” Brown said, who was playing a navy blue suit and wearing a niches pin in the lapel of his jacket. “But I am eager to start.”
Brown, officially hired as the 32nd coach in the team’s history on Monday, inherited some big shoes, relatively speaking. He takes over for coach Tom Thibodo – which Brown repeatedly called a friend – was allowed to leave the team’s deepest playoff run in 25 years after former Nix’s head man. New York, which has made a playoffs in four of the last five years, is coming back-to-back since the first 50-win since the mid-1990s.
The 55 -year -old Brown was careful not to criticize his predecessor. He avoided splitting any details – whether it was about the struggles of the early lineups, or defensive strategies in the second half of the season – how he can change the game style of the nix. Whatever he certainly came, he was saying that he would prepare his aggressive and defensive philosophy to ensure that he fit the talented personnel of the club. He said that after filling his coaching staff in the coming weeks, everything else would come to mind and talk more with his players, he said.
He addressed the notion of expectations, however.
Asked that it means handling a club to take just one club after just two wins of the NBA final, Brown suggested that it does not phase it. He said, “Nobody has any great expectation. My expectations are high.” “This is Nix and Madison Square Garden. It is distinguished. … I love and embrace the expectations coming with it.”
Brown knows what it has to be held for an incredibly high standard.
The two -time coach of the year withdrew Caves to his first NBA final in 2007 before losing his job in 2010. Cleveland resumed it in 2013, let him go only at the end of that season. Lakes entered her in just five games in her second season in 2013. And then back in December, in December Sakramanto kings -Cise Brown took the playoffs in the playoffs after the NBA-riddled 16-season drought in 2023-the option to set it on fire after the beginning of 13-18 in the last season.
He said, “The league is the league – in terms of how the hiring and firing process goes on, there is always eb and flowing.”
Brown, who won four NBA titles as an assistant with spurs and warriors, talked about a handful of knock players. Jalan Brunson’s versatility along with different styles Carl-Athony Town And Michel RobinsonBrown gives endless options on crime, he said. Brown also referred to the depth that newcomers Jordan Clarkson And Gurschon Yabusale provide.
In the largest parts of the job, Brown said, “will hold his players accountable – and they are doing the same with them.” The coach has long been known for the desire to criticize his teams, whether it is publicly or behind the closed doors.
“At the end of the day, it’s about relationships,” Brown said. “This is about belief. Once you enhance those relationships, you can talk openly about anything you need to go in the direction you need to go. I am going to be open and honest with them, and I am sure they are going to be open and honest with me.”
