At least two people, including a police officer from New York City, were shot dead in Blackstone’s lobby, which is some of the country’s top financial firms and some of the National Football League in the building, which a person acquainted with the case told The Associated Press to The Associated Press.
Two citizens and off-duty officer have died, sources told WPIX.
The building was being taken out till 7 pm
At 7:13 pm, Mayor Adams confirmed X An active shooter was being investigated in Midtown.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish confirmed X The shooter was neutralized: “At this time, the scene is contained and the only shooter is ineffective.”
NYPD is urging pedestrians to avoid the area around the 52nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
According to the EMS source, a person was taken to a local hospital in cardiac arrest.
