The MPs voted in favor of the establishment of a professional football regulator under the “Football Governance Bill”, in which clubs will be handed over the operating license.
The bill is to be included in the law after receiving 415 votes for 98 (317 majority) in the House of Commons.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandi said that the bill, which will create a regulator for Premier League And the English Football League (EFL), to ensure that clubs run continuously to prevent teams from going out of business.
“We promised in our manifesto that we would end the inactivity of the years and will make changes that fans have fought for so long and are very high,” Nandi said.
“I am proud to be part of the winning team that put our fans back on the pitch in the heart of the game where they are.”
He said: “This is for McClassfield, for Wigan, for Bari, for Bolton, for Derby, for reading, for Shefield, on Wednesday, for Morcambe and for many, many more, many more, who have had to bear the grief of putting the end when they should have been kept before.”
