Most say Federal Reserve should make decisions independent of Trump: Survey

The survey conducted in early September suggests that 68 percent of the 68 percent of the American Trump supports Fed’s independence, while 32 percent says it is best if Fed is the Federate by Trump by Trump.

Results show a clear division by party affiliation, 91 percent of Democrats and 75 percent independents said that it is best if Fed makes decisions without Trump.

Among the non-Maga Republican, 53 percent of the Fed should be independent of the influence of the President, while 47 percent say Fed should hear what Trump wants.

For months, the President has pressurized Fed Chair Zerome Powell to reduce interest rates, as Powells are adamant in their freedom. Trump recently shifted Lisa Cook as a fed governor, also referred to the allegations of hostage fraud, but he has sued for blocking his termination, which she says that she says that is without reason.

The pole was held on 3–5 September and consisted of 2,385 American adults. The margin of the error is 2.5 percentage points.
