We started the conversation by asking Meta’s reaction to the firing… but he surprised us when he said he wanted to take Harrison’s job!!
“I’m saying this because I’ve got a lot of experience,” Meta said.
“Running a basketball business would be easy enough; running a sports business is easy enough at the highest level, whether it’s president or general manager. I’m running all the operations.”
Meta has done all that. After spending 17 seasons in the NBA, Meta became the South Bay Lakers player development coach… and was the assistant head coach for the Cal State LA women’s basketball team.
He also founded Artest Management Group… and recently signed on to co-manage the rising boxing star cordell booker,
