
Facebook’s parent company Meta has announced plans to lay off about 600 of its employees. artificial intelligence (AI) unit.

Alexander Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, rationalized the layoffs in an internal memo, saying: “By reducing the size of our team, decisions will require less interaction, and each person will bear more weight and have greater scope and influence.”
According to Axios, Wang also confirmed that the company is helping affected employees find other jobs within Meta.
“This is a talented group of individuals and we need their skills in other parts of the company,” he wrote.
