Massie files petition to force vote on Epstein disclosures

Rape. Thomas Masi (R-Ky.) On Tuesday formally filed a long-promised discharge petition to take action on his bill.

PetitionIf it reaches 218 signature, the house will ignore the GOP leadership to force action on the resolution.

The Republican, who signed the petition to reach the threshold, will take a handful of Republican – and Massey told reporters that it would be confident that it would reach there, yet he said that he said that there is a pressure campaign from the GOP leadership and the White House and asking the Republican not to sign.

InherentResolutionIn July, the Department of Justice was introduced after an uproar over the memo, in which there would be no further disclosure in the Epstein case, 11 other Republicans have been coponsed.

But since the original outrage, which was stopped at the lower chamber, the House Oversite Committee has investigated the matter and the House GOP leaders on Tuesday prescribed a competitive vote for another Epstein resolution this week – directed the House Oversite and Government Reform Committee to continue their investigation into Epstein.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) The House said that the House is demanding “maximum transparency” on the issue and discontinued Massey’s attempt, while a bipartisan meeting commented on commenting to meet with a group of allegations of Epstin.

Johnson told reporters on Tuesday, “I will describe almost everything.

The oversight panel discontinued an investigation by Epstein after a bilateral commotion, which was said after a July memorandum from the Department of Justice and FBI that they would not release any further information about the Epstein case. The committee’s investigation was motivated in part by a successful Democratic-LED proposal for the DOJ for “Epstein Files”. Department Hand over thousands of documents In response to that request in August, but on the panel, Democrats said that the material was mostly already public.

Massey called the competitive measure a “placebo” resolution.

“Using that oversite probe as a placebo for the complete release of these files, you participate in the same situation. [Attorney General] Palm Bondi did when he gave everyone a binding machine. They go home, they read binder, and they like, we already had all this. All this is still already on the Internet. And then they get more upset because someone insulted his intelligence, which they already knew, ”said Massey.

“I think it is a threat that the speaker and the oversite committee is still running, it is that when people find out that it is nothing, they are going to be even more crazy,” Massey said.

Massey said that the Chairman of the House Rules Committee Jim McGawn (D-Mas) was the first member to sign his petition.
