Maryland Democrat says Trump 'once again got played' by Putin

Sen Chris Van Holen (D-MD) said on Sunday that President Trump “played once again” Russian President Vladimir Putin after his recent meeting in Alaska.

“You are in the Foreign Relations Committee. You have seen that peak, I am sure. What happened, what is your reaction to this?” Martha Radtz of ABC News asked Van Holen on “this week”.

“Okay, Martha, there is no sugar. Donald Trump, once again played by Vladimir Putin. Vladimir Putin got a cure for red carpet on American earth. But we did not get any ceasefire, no adjacent meeting between Putin and Zelanski,” Wan Holen replied.

“All the danger and restrictions you know, Donald Trump is clearly set on one side. Donald Trump is flattering by Vladimir Putin. But when it comes to Ukraine and our European colleagues, it was a shock,” he said.

On Friday, President Trump said that he progressed on major points amid the meeting with Putin, but did not clarify what they were or what disagreement was. Come to peace in Ukraine,

“We didn’t reach there, but we have a good chance,” Trump said, showing that there was no final agreement with Friday’s talks.
