San Diego (KSWB/Kusi) – Friends are remembering a person who drowned over the weekend after saving two young nephews of his girlfriend, who got stuck in the river flow during the weekend.
Jeff Brady, a native of San Diego, was on the Colorado River near the Shore resort hidden in the Aries, Aries, along with his girlfriend Ellen Ellis, his twin brother Greg and his loved ones.
“He did almost every weekend during the summer,” said a long -time friend of Brady.
The summer fun was quickly tragic on Saturday when Ellis’s 10– and 12-year-old nephews were swept away from the present river.
Another friend of Brady, Summer Needam said, “Boys swim and how do you know everything, so at the end of this week it is present in the river that it is very strong, and it removed a little one, and then it was just snatched from there.”
Nidham said that Brady immediately took action, swimming to keep the boys above the water, until they could help.
Struggling to fight strong current, Replay says Greg and his girlfriend, Julie, helped save boys after Jeff.
Needam said, “There was a boat that appeared outside from anywhere, and they were able to throw the boys on the boat and threw Julie on the boat, and Greg turned around, and Jeff went,” said Nidham.
Several agencies, including the Yuma County Sheriff Office, responded to the river, discovering Brady after flowing under water. Shortly after 7 pm, they found it and declared him dead on the spot.
“He was a giant of a man, but his heart was pure gold,” Needom said smiling.
Brady, Niyhm and Replay went to the same high school and were friends for decades.
Repley said, “He was a fun boy,” when asked what was in Brady High School, saying that it was not a shock or surprise that he was he who jumped into the water to save Alice’s nephews.
However, he said that the shock of Braddy’s death has been real.
“He is just heartbroken and remembers him,” Ripley said about Jeff’s girlfriend. “She wants to hug another, walks through another door, everything she is not going to get anymore.”
Even if friends will hug, laugh, laugh, and reunite fun, they say they are proud that he died a hero.
Needam said, “We want people to know how amazing he was.” “He went out with his angels.”
Nidham says that he installed one Goofandme Page to support the family after his death.
He says that Jeff moved to Yuma to take care of his father two months ago, who had some medical concerns, and money would help support him as they mourn the loss of Jeff.
