Knicks’ Jalen Brunson turns ankle late in loss to Magic

New York– nix guard Jalen Brunson He injured his right ankle while driving to the basket with less than two minutes remaining on Wednesday night 124-107 loss till orlando magic,

Coach Mike Brown would only say that Brunson sprained his ankle, but provided no further updates.

Brunson was not available to speak to the media after the game, but several reporters saw him leaving Madison Square Garden in a walking boot and using crutches.

The Knicks were trailing 115–99 at the time of Brunson’s injury. He scored 31 points and added 6 assists and fouled himself out of the game with 1:52 minutes remaining.

This injury is on the same ankle that Brunson sprained last season, due to which he had to miss 15 matches. It was initially ruled a two-week injury, but he missed additional time before returning in the playoffs. His ankle injury seemed to be aggravated a few times in the first round, but it didn’t seem to bother him as New York advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The loss to the Magic ended the Knicks’ five-game winning streak and was also their first loss at home after starting the season 7–0 at MSG.
