
Several people at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland fell ill and received medical treatment after a “suspicious package” was delivered to the military base just outside Washington, D.C., CNN reported. informed Late Thursday night.
A building on the base – where President Trump frequently visits travels through Joint Base Andrews told CNN in a statement that the package was evacuated after a person opened it — while on official business.
“First responders from Joint Base Andrews were dispatched to the scene, determined there was no immediate threat, and the scene has been turned over to the Office of Special Investigations,” the statement said. “The investigation is still ongoing.”
After the packages were opened, several people were taken to the base’s Malcolm Grove Medical Center. Two sources familiar with the investigation told CNN that it involved an unidentified white powder and political propaganda.
