Norway’s Johannes Hosflot Klebo has set another Winter Games record by winning his 10th gold medal in cross country skiing at the Milan Cortina Olympics.
The 29-year-old raced with Einar Hedegaart to win his fifth gold medal of the 2026 Games in the men’s team sprint on Wednesday.
Klebo’s win made him only the second Olympian with 10 gold medals, along with swimming great Michael Phelps. Phelps won 23 gold medals in four Olympics from 2004 to 2016, including eight wins at the 2008 Beijing Games.
Klebo broke the Winter Olympic record in Sunday’s 4×7.5-kilometer relay, and he will try to go 6-for-6 at these Games in Saturday’s 50-kilometer mass start. He will join three swimmers to win at least six gold medals at a single Olympics – Phelps (twice), Mark Spitz and Kristin Otto – and gymnast Vitaly Scherbo.
