utah jazz Center walker kessler The team announced Wednesday that he will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
The Jazz said Kessler’s surgery is scheduled for Thursday and will be performed by Dr. Neil L’Attrache in Los Angeles.
Kessler had a strong start to the season, averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 blocks in five games before suffering an injury.
The 24-year-old player will be a restricted free agent in the offseason. The Jazz and Kessler discussed extending his rookie deal before the October deadline but came no closer to reaching an agreement.
