Center point, Texas (Kxan) – While local, state and federal property have been active in Central Texas after Friday’s deadly floods, volunteers are also helping with coordinated efforts through respondents.
On Sunday, Charlie Wolf and Johnny Fazard assisted at Center Point, Texas.

“Was worrying that there was a body in the debris pile,” said Fazard. “This is definitely a thoughtful idea. You know that it is either going as someone you know or a child you know, so you know that it is definitely going to be very calm.”
He and Wolf worked with a group coordinated by a local fire fighting department.
The Center Point was also a primary place for various search and rescue efforts on Sunday. This is downwards from where the flood started.
By Monday morning, the death toll was at least 82, with 68 – including 28 children – in County, home of young camps in Texas Hill Country. Some victims have still not been identified, and the total number of people is unknown.
Wolf said, “We are here to serve here and to make sure that all have been recovered, so we can close these families. So there is really my mindset.”
The Texas hill country in the central part of the state is naturally prone to flooding due to dry dirt -filled areas, where the soil skids the rain with the surface of the landscape instead of soaking the rain. Friday’s flash flood began with a particularly poor storm, which dropped most of its 12 inches of rain in the morning.
