On Sunday, nationwide protests took place across Israel as hundreds of thousands of protesters called for a safe return of hostages held in Gaza after a war of almost two years.
The beginning of the war in October 2023 is one of the demonstrations of one of the countries seen by the country. They fall amid the growing frustration in Israel on the government’s plans to expand military operations in some of the most crowded areas of Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that he opposed any deal that leaves Hamas to power. But many Israelis are afraid that a new military aggressive in Gaza may endanger the remaining 50 hostages, of which 20 are still considered alive.
The protests on Sunday were organized by groups representing the families of hostages.
Demonstrations took place at dozens of places across Israel, including politicians in homes, on military headquarters and major highways, where the protesters blocked several streets and prevented the bonfire.
