Tempe, Arizona — Marvin Harrison Jr.The second NFL season is in the books.
Coach Jonathan Gannon announced the decision on Wednesday Cardinals Wide receiver out of Arizona’s season finale against Los Angeles Rams Harrison missed Sunday’s game with a left foot injury cincinnati bengals,
Harrison was dealing with a right heel injury he suffered in Week 13 at Tampa Bay.
Harrison’s season finished with 41 catches for 608 yards and four touchdowns.
Injuries defined Harrison’s season. He played only 12 games, two due to appendicitis surgery, two due to his heel and missed Sunday due to his foot.
Gannon said of Harrison, “I thought he did some good things.” “We moved him around the formation. He created points for us. He got open, caught it. I don’t think he’s reached his limit and I look forward to the future with him.”
Gannon didn’t want to get into what Harrison would have to do to reach his ceiling.
“We’ll talk about it later,” Gannon said. “I’m not in that frame of mind right now and I’m thinking about the development of players moving forward. I’m trying to focus on today at the Rams.”
Gannon said he was pleased with the way Harrison played after adding 11 pounds of muscle last season.
“I thought he made some contested catches because of his size,” Gannon said. “And we’ll look at it in the future and see if that’s the right thing.”
